Frequently Asked Questions about Explosion Protection
An explosion protection inspection verifies that electrical and non-electrical equipment in hazardous areas is safe and compliant with ATEX directives and BetrSichV. We use exclusively Fluke Ex-rated instruments for all measurements.
An ATEX inspection is required whenever potentially explosive atmospheres can occur in your facility, for example from flammable gases, vapors, mists, or dusts during production, storage, or transport.
Inspection intervals are based on the risk assessment and manufacturer specifications. Recurring inspections are typically performed every 3 years, more frequently under heavy-duty conditions.
The explosion protection document is a legally required record under BetrSichV that describes all hazardous areas, zone classifications, the risk assessment, and the protective measures in place.
We work exclusively with Fluke Ex-rated instruments approved for use in hazardous areas. These guarantee safe and precise measurements even in Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22.
